Haingotiana holding a piano score

About me

My full name is Dominique Haingotiana Spirig, and artistically I go by Haingotiana—a name drawn from my Malagasy heritage. Born in Switzerland and raised in Ticino, the Italian-speaking part of the country, I now live in Basel with my husband and daughter.

From a very young age, I was captivated by the piano—its majestic elegance, unique voice, and boundless ability to express emotion. I began lessons at six and spent fifteen years immersed in classical training, performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, among others. Over time, my path shifted toward a contemporary classical and romantic style, inspired by artists such as Yiruma and Ludovico Einaudi.

My first composition as an adult, Awakening, opened a new creative dimension and led to my debut album REFLECTIONS (2017), followed by IMPRESSIONNS (2020) and CONNECTIONS (2022), which explores deeper layers of self-discovery. I am currently working on a new album, scheduled for release in spring 2026—stay tuned!

Through my music, I seek to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries, creating a universal language of emotion and connection: connection with oneself, with others, and with the greater whole. Composing and playing are my ways of giving voice to what cannot be spoken—the silent truths of the soul made audible through the dance of fingers on keys.

In creating and performing, I enter a state of profound mindfulness where body, mind, and soul merge. From this space arises the urge to share my music—to touch hearts and to invite listeners on a transformative journey into the soul. For me, this is the deepest fulfillment of making music.

Beyond composing, I also bring music to life at private and public events, offering performances that include both my own compositions and a carefully curated selection of classical and contemporary works. Whether for an intimate gathering, a wedding, or a cultural occasion, I aim to create an atmosphere that resonates with beauty, depth, and emotional connection.
